New Build - Design and Construct - Granny Flat

Brief Description

We’re thrilled to share one of our first combined design-and-build projects: a beautifully finished granny flat in Cessnock! This new service allows us to guide clients through every detail, from conceptual style to final finishes, creating a polished, cohesive result.

Our client chose a timeless country farmhouse style, blending modern and traditional elements for a look that’s both classic and full of character. Charming touches like colonial skirting, architraves, dado rails, and heritage-inspired tapware enhance the aesthetic. A split of gyprock and VJ paneling adds texture and interest, furthering the farmhouse feel.

The kitchen is designed with elegance and functionality in mind, featuring a farmhouse sink and soft-close cabinetry in the Polytec Berrima profile, accented with matte black Lane Hampton handles. Timber shelving near the servery window and in the laundry/bathroom adds warmth and contrast against light wall colors, combining style with practicality.

Thoughtful lighting placement ensures ample illumination in key areas, with wall lights over the servery window and tailored lighting in the laundry and bathroom. A small broom cupboard in the laundry provides convenient storage, and a hanging rail beneath the overhead cupboards is perfect for delicates.

Other special features in this elite granny flat include heated tiled floors in both wet areas, a cleverly positioned internal window to allow borrowed light from the living area into the laundry/bathroom, and durable laminate flooring throughout. A strut servery window leads to a spacious deck constructed of composite decking, complemented by a privacy screen and fence extenders for added seclusion. Outside, a concrete parking area with planter boxes surrounding the property adds the final touch of refinement.

Every detail was carefully planned, resulting in a space that’s as stylish as it is functional—truly a home within a home.
